Jason Lacouture Biography :

The LaCouture family should have known something was up when little Jason got up before Saturday morning cartoons started and counted his baseball cards. It might have been his checklist system or his interest in keeping perfect track of the sheer volume of his collection that tipped them off-he was meant for some big things.

Jason brings to FableVision a breadth and depth of programming skills not usually found in one individual. Wielding a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University, Jason began his training in the tradition of C and C++. Jason decided while still in college to break out of the typical computer science mold and test the waters with Web development. He gained expertise in the group of programming technologies known as LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), CSS, and other web-oriented technologies but is best known as a master of Flash programming.

Being an artist, Jason loves to see the results of his work, and Web development gives him the opportunity to exercise both of his passions. He prides himself on the scalability and modularity of his code, and views his craft as an art.

FableVision had Jason put his brand of art to use, completing a technically challenging project for PBS called the History Scene Investigators. The project combined Google Maps, AJAX, Flash, XML, and PHP to form a very fun, interactive game.

Jason was also the lead developer on a very fast-paced project involving 42 Science Simulations and 19 Science Games for FableVison's client Scott Foresman Publishing. This project was done entirely in Flash with a healthy balance of ActionScript 1 and 2. The set of interactive activities ranged in complexity, and Jason takes pride in those games that were the most difficult to tackle.
