Jason M. Shinn concentrates his practice on issues involving business torts, real estate and construction litigation, professional liability defense, employment practices defense and trade secret litigation. Mr. Shinn also has extensive experience addressing issues concerning electronic data that arise in all litigation, including forensic examinations of hard drives, email, and minimizing spoliation risks of electronic data.Mr. Shinn’s extensive depth of knowledge involving trade secret issues includes defending against claims of misappropriation of trade secret, confidential and proprietary information (intangible assets) and pursuing these claims on behalf of clients. He also works with clients to proactively protect the intangible assets that provide a competitive edge in the marketplace by analyzing existing measures to protect such information. Mr. Shinn lectures extensively on electronic discovery, including presenting at the 2004 Ohio Judicial Conference, which was attended by more than a hundred judges. Additional lecture topics include trade secret protection and employment discrimination, hiring procedures, and sexual harassment.Mr. Shinn earned his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School and he holds a B.A. in Psychology from Central Michigan University. He is admitted to practice in Michigan and Ohio. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and the U.S. District Court Northern District of Ohio. |
