Ms. Spellman specializes in Inpatient, Outpatient, Faculty Practice, Psychiatry and Long Term Care facilities, and brings over 18 years of AR management experience to GeBBS. As a previous Corporate Director of Patient Accounts managing thirteen hospitals, her professional background includes billing and follow up with all government and non-government carriers. As a previous Vice President of Operations she was responsible for working with multiple practice specialties to insure department managers met or exceeded monthly cash collection goals. Ms. Spellman was responsible for creating a centralized business office to insure efficiencies in all aspects in AR management This includes Registration, scheduling, insurance verification, denial management, billing and follow-up. Ms. Spellman is an active member and serves on the newsletter committee for the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) association and severs on the certification committee for HFMA's VA chapter. Ms Spellman is also an active member of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). |
