Dr. Janet B. Reid joined the CHP board of trustees in 2002. She is a principal partner and co-founder of Global Lead Management Consulting.
Prior to the start of Global Lead, Dr. Reid held a variety of positions with The Procter & Gamble Company, including research chemist, section head and brand manager. In 1988, she started her own diversity business, JB Reid & Associates, which merged with Lynch Brown & Associates to become Global Lead in 1998. Previously, Dr. Reid taught chemistry at Virginia Union University, having earned a B.S. in chemistry and a Ph.D. in bioinorganic chemistry from Howard University.
A proven leader in developing and implementing diversity and inclusion, Dr. Reid provides marketing and strategic change initiatives for major corporations. Her expertise involves shaping corporate strategy and developing quantitative and qualitative benefits of a commitment to inclusion. A consultant to numerous Fortune 500 executives and keynote speaker on the subject of inclusion and women in corporate America, Dr. Reid is a recognized leader in the industry. She has worked with Global Lead in countries across Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia and has been quoted in noted publications such as TIME Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, PRWeek, DiversityInc and FORTUNE.
In 2006, she and Vincent Randolph Brown co-authored the best-selling book, The Phoenix Principles, which focuses on leveraging inclusion to transform companies.
Dr. Reid was named the Speaking of Women's Health National Honoree in 2002 and Cincinnati Enquirer's Woman of the Year in 1996. Her consulting firm received the Fifth Third Bank and Small Business News Enterprise Awards' Business of the Year Award in 1996. She has also received the Leading Women: Entrepreneur's Award and Procter & Gamble Product Development's Pioneering Black Woman Award. In addition, she has published several articles and studies.
A board member of numerous professional associations, Dr. Reid is the first woman and first African-American to chair the board of the Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce. She is also on the boards of the Children’s Home of Greater Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Branch of Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation, the Cincinnati Zoo and IT Senior Management Forum and is chairperson of the Leadership Cincinnati Steering Committee. |
