Jane E. Newman joined FairPoint in August 2007 as a director and was elected Lead Director by the Company’s Board of Directors in October 2007. Ms. Newman has served in various capacities in academia, business and government. Most notably, Ms. Newman served in the administrations of President Ronald Reagan and President George H.W. Bush and on Capitol Hill. Ms. Newman also possesses extensive board experience, having previously served in varying capacities on the boards of Markem Corporation Consumers Water Company, Public Service Company of New Hampshire, the Nellie Mae Foundation, Fleet Bank of New Hampshire and Indian Head Banks. She served as interim president of the University of New Hampshire from 2006-2007 and served as executive dean of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. |
