James H. Donell is a seasoned real estate professional with over 40 years of experience in the acquisition, development, marketing and management of real estate. James has been involved a wide range of real estate properties, including office, commercial, retail, industrial, multi-family, hotel, single family and condominiums. He also has extensive experience in asset and business liquidations, oil and gas partnerships, post-judgment enforcement actions and receiverships.
In addition to all aspects of property management and leasing, James' experience and knowledge includes the acquisition and development of large commercial, retail and residential real estate projects, tenant improvements and substantial rehabilitation of distressed properties for institutional clients and private investment partnerships. Since 1990, James has been appointed as a federal and state court receiver in more than 200 cases involving real property and SEC complaints relating to major federal fraud cases.
In conjunction with his role with Focus Management Group, James serves as the President and CEO of Jalmar Properties, Inc., AMO®, a real estate investment and property management company specializing in the acquisition, development and management of commercial, retail, industrial and multi-family housing in California, Arizona and Nevada. James oversees all aspects of the operation and management of the Company. Drawing upon his extensive knowledge, diversified experience and intuitive leadership, James has led Jalmar Properties to rapid growth and continued success.
James is a Certified Commercial Investment Member and is a Certified Property Manager (CPM). He is a licensed real estate broker in California and Nevada and also holds a Nevada Property Management Permit. James is also an active member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), the CCIM Institute, Los Angeles Apartment Owners Association, The California Receiver's Forum and the National Association of Realtors.
Grossmont College awarded James his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.
