Jim helps BBK's clients implement financial and operational performance improvement strategies. He has more than 30 years of experience in program launches, manufacturing and operations risk, corporate finance, due diligence, lean manufacturing, restructuring and bankruptcy. He has led numerous successful transactional due diligence engagements for private equity, hedge funds and other organizations in the M&A market. Professional Experience Prior to BBK, Jim served as President and CEO of Newcor, a $350 million automotive and heavy duty truck parts supplier with three different product groups employing 1,200 individuals in 8 locations. As CEO, he initiated a new mission statement that outlined guiding principles, implemented a more effective manufacturing system, introduced NUMMI technical staff, reduced headcount by 25%, implemented lean manufacturing, consolidated two manufacturing operations and managed a restructuring process through Chapter 11. Before serving as President and CEO, Jim was Newcors VP and CFO. In this position he was responsible for all facets of the financial organization of the company, including financial reporting, treasury, investor relations, cost accounting, budgeting and management information systems. Further, Jim successfully moved the company from the NASDAQ to the AMEX. Prior to Newcor, Jim was VP of Operations and CFO for Rockwell Medical Technologies, a manufacturer and distributor of dialysis solutions. During this time, he led the companys IPO process to successful conclusion and was instrumental in reducing distribution and production costs. As President of Glacier Vandervell, Inc., a $400 million, 1,300 employee, engine bearing manufacturer, Jim improved GVI profits from a $400 thousand operating loss to a $17 million operating income in three years, achieving 12.2% return on sales and 34% ROI. He helped the business grow from $90 million to $150 million in three years. Previously Jim served as Vice President and a member of the Office of the President of JP Industries, Inc., an $850 million Fortune 500 Company, doing business in consumer products and automotive components. At JPI, Jim directed the financial and operational analysis of a $120 million asset purchase of an automotive component business and an asset purchase of $25 million for a consumer goods business. He assisted in the consolidation of operations, closing two plants and expanding other business unit, resulting in cost reductions of $3 million per year.
