Mr. Beach has over ten years of experience in the power industry and
fifteen years of experience as a financial professional, specializing in
structuring non-recourse debt financing, project development, and
acquisitions and divestitures. Much of his career has been spent in senior
and mid-level project finance roles with two large U.S. independent
power producers, and during the past five years he has led the financing
efforts for more than ten major non-recourse power transactions totaling
nearly $7 billion and over 8,000MW. His experience includes roles in
asset valuations, financial modeling, debt restructuring, loan and project
document negotiation, tax and accounting treatment, merchant trading,
and market analysis.

Project Finance. Since 1996, Mr. Beach has led or provided material
support for over 30 project finance transactions, primarily related to
greenfield power development. Most transactions required Mr. Beach’s
involvement from the earliest stages of development through financial
close, syndication, and project construction. Through this experience,
Mr. Beach has acquired expertise in loan structuring and negotiation,
optimizing debt structuring, negotiating bankable project documents,
financial modeling, and many other elements required to ensure
successful financial closing with lenders.
Project Development. Mr. Beach has led or provided material support
for the greenfield development of numerous power plant and other
facilities since 1996. His expertise in project development includes: site
selection, permitting, negotiation of off-take, fuel supply, and EPC
contracts, tax abatement programs, gaining local support, and legal
issues.
Acquisitions/Divestitures. Mr. Beach has provided financial expertise for
several acquisitions and divestures, primarily in the power industry,
while employed at Tractebel, Cogentrix, and the Fluor Corporation. His
areas of expertise included asset valuation, debt restructuring, contract
review, financial modeling, merchant trading and short-term hedging
analysis, and bid preparation and review.
Valuations. Mr. Beach has provided valuations for several assets in a
wide range of industries throughout his career. His expertise includes
financial modeling, revenue and risk/reward analysis, cash flow
optimization, rate of return analysis, and debt/equity optimization.
