Mr. Hardymon retired as chairman of Textron, Inc., a public company that produces aircraft, fastening systems, and industrial components and products, in 1999. Mr. Hardymon joined Textron, Inc. in 1989 as president and chief operating officer. He became chief executive officer in 1992 and assumed the title of chairman in 1993. He is a director of American Standard Companies, Inc. and Lexmark International, Inc. He has been a director of the company since 1998. His present term will expire in 2009. |
