Jay Flaherty is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Health Care Property Investors. Prior to joining HCP in October 2002 Jay enjoyed a nineteen-year career with Merrill Lynch & Co. serving in a variety of investment banking capital markets and private equity functions in New York London and Los Angeles. His responsibilities at Merrill Lynch included managing the Global Health Care Group where he created and led their healthcare franchise.
Jay received a BBA in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame in 1979 and earned an MBA from the Graduate School of Management at the University of California Los Angeles in 1983. From 1979 to 1981 Jay was a Certified Public Accountant in the Boston office of Ernst & Whinney. Currently he sits on the Board of Governors of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT). |
