James Parkhurst served on the Board of Director of Harbor National Bank from September 2002 until the sale of the Bank in April 2004. James Parkhurst’s career, since 1978 has spanned almost all areas of provider based healthcare services, including administration, market development, direct contracting (managed care), acquisition, divestitures, new construction and contract management services. Since March 1993, Mr. Parkhurst has served as President, CEO and Administrator of Beacon Healthcare Services, Inc., doing business as Newport Bay Hospital, a 34-bed inpatient neuro-psychiatric facility in Newport Beach, CA. The facility opened in February 1994 as the country’s first freestanding specialty hospital dedicated to the care and treatment of mental health issues specific to the senior population. Before starting Newport Bay Hospital, Mr. Parkhurst served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Medical Imaging Centers of America in San Diego, CA., directed the transition team and development projects at Renaissance America, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia, served as President and director of Renaissance America Inc., served as the President and CEO of Synergist Limited in Houston, Texas, served as President and CEO of Continuity Healthcare Affiliates in Laguna Beach, CA. and served in various capacities from March 1985 to July 1988 at Comprehensive Care Corporation in Irvine, CA. In 15 years at General Electric Company, Mr. Parkhurst’s responsibilities included the areas of sales, marketing and manufacturing management, both national and international. |
