James C. Gale has served on our board of directors since August 2004 and is chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Mr. Gale is a managing director of Sanders Morris Harris, a Houston-based investment firm. Since October 1998, he has served as managing partner of LOF Partners LLC, which manages the firm’s three life sciences private equity funds. Mr. Gale serves on the boards of directors of Relm Wireless Corporation, Indevus Pharmaceuticals and several private companies. He is the chairman of the boards of directors of Valera Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Alpex Pharma S.A. From February 2004 to present, Mr. Gale was head of investment banking for Gruntal & Co., LLC. Earlier, he served with Home Insurance Co., E.F. Hutton & Co. and Adam Cohen Securities, Inc., where he was involved in making principal investments. Mr. Gale received his master’s degree in business administration from The University of Chicago. |
