Jakob Baer graduated with a Dr. iur. from the University of Berne, Switzerland, and was subsequently admitted to the bar.
Jakob Baer was a member of the executive team of KPMG Switzerland from 1992 until 1994. From 1994 until 2004 he held the position of Chief Executive of KPMG Switzerland, and was a member of KPMG's European and International Leadership Board.
Other appointments and commitments: non-executive director of Swiss Re, Rieter Holding AG, Allreal Holding AG, Emmentalische Mobiliar Versicherungs-Gesellschaft, and IFBC - Integrated Financial Consulting AG (all in Switzerland).
