After earning a Bachelor's degree in Administration from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales in 1980, Jacques Mallette began his career at Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982. He remained with Coopers & Lybrand until 1988, holding various auditing and consulting positions.
From 1988 to 1992, he served as Controller for the Société Générale de financement du Québec. From 1992 to 1994, he was Vice President, Finance and Treasurer at Pétromont. Mr. Mallette then joined Cascades Paperboard International where he held the successive positions of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, and President and Chief Executive Officer.
From March 2003 to October 2005, Mr. Mallette served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Quebecor Inc. and Quebecor Media Inc.
Since October 2005, Mr. Mallette has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Quebecor World Inc.
