Lobbying Practice Jacqueline S.L. Williams is a registered New York State Lobbyist in the Albany office of Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C. She provides contract-lobbying services to the firm’s Government Relations group. Ms. Williams’ duties require her to interact with members of the state legislature, their staff and administration officials to implement the client's legislative and regulatory objectives.Professional Profile Ms. Williams previously served as the Associate Director for Legislative Policy and Communications in the Division of Governmental Affairs for the Medical Society of the State of New York. During her twelve-year tenure in the New York State Legislature, she has served as Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, and Legislative Assistant to several ranking members of the State Assembly. In her last two years, Ms. Williams additionally served as Acting Executive Director for the New York State Association of Black and Puerto Rican Legislators, Incorporated and was responsible for both the development and coordination of the largest annual statewide legislative conference in New York State. She possesses a comprehensive knowledge of state governmental functions, political operations and key policymakers in both houses of the New York State Legislature.Education Ms. Williams has a B.A. in Government and Public Administration with a concentration in Urban Development from the City University of New York - John Jay College of Criminal Justice.Professional Affiliations Ms. Williams was the founder and president of the Ladies Elite Investment Club from 1996 to 2000. She has worked with the National Black Caucus of State Legislators in the area of housing. In the New York State Assembly's Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force, Ms. Williams assisted in policy issues and coordination of the annual legislative conference in New York State and Puerto Rico.Currently, Ms. Williams is a member of Capital Network, a women's organization that is inclusive of elected officials and lobbyists dedicated to educating and informing women on various issues. She is also an associate member of the Council of Black Elected Democrats (COBED). Additionally, she frequently volunteers her time to assist local community organizations and church activities.Military Service From 1987 to 2000, Ms. Williams served in the U.S. Army Reserve, Signal Corp and reached the rank of Lieutenant. She served in the 340th Military Police Battalion in Hempstead, New York, attended the U.S. Army Airborne School as a paratrooper in Fort Benning, Georgia and completed Officers Training Corp in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. |
