In-Young Lee Biography :

In-Young Lee is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's New York office. He is a member of the Firm's Corporate Department and International Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on representation of Korean financial institutions, industrial concerns and trading companies and U.S. corporations conducting business in Korea.

In-Young has practiced in the area of international transactional law since 1983, concentrating on corporate and banking. In-Young's corporate practice involves U.S. and cross-border M&A, joint ventures and strategic alliance, foreign investment, sale of non-performing loans and international restructuring. He has also successfully represented many foreign companies in respect to various commercial disputes, including international litigations and arbitrations. In-Young's banking experience includes representation of foreign banks in commercial lending, real estate financing, trade financing, M&A financing, restructuring and derivatives. In-Young also has provided various legal advice to foreign banking clients with respect to the establishment of a subsidiary, branch or representative office, the acquisition or sale of branches or banks, and expansion into interstate banking or non-banking activities in the United States. In-Young has vast experience in bridging cultural and legal differences between the United States and Korea. Currently, In-Young serves as general counsel to major U.S./Korean business organizations, such as the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the U.S.A., Inc. and The Association of Korean Financial Institutions in America, Inc.

He has published various articles, including "The Effectiveness of Incentives Under the Foreign Capital Inducement Act of Korea," and "Do They Get What They Want?: The International Technology Transfer."

Born and educated in Korea, he is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and the states of Illinois and New York. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of International Trade.
