Mr. Hemant Sonawala is long-standing and highly respected veteran of the Indo-American Information Technology industry since 1966. He has been a forerunner in introducing high technology products in India through strategic alliances with Varian, Applied Research Laboratories, Digital Equipment Corporation, Cray Inc., Informix Corporation, Novell Inc., ChemShare Corporation, (Hewlett Packard semi-conductor division), SDRC, Applicon, Tektronix Inc., Hughes, and Schiller AG amongst others.
Mr. Sonawala currently serves on the board of several profit and non-profit organizations, including serving as Chairman of the Hinditron Group of Companies. Under Mr. Sonawala's leadership, Hinditron over the last 35 years expanded its operations in several fields - Information Technology, Instrumentation and Telecommunication products, Software Products and Services and provided complete solutions to its clients in Space, Aviation, Broadcasting, Defence, Education, R&D and other strategic sectors, in such areas as Electronics Instrumentation, Computers and Information Technology.
Mr. Sonawala is an active speaker and a member of several government and education committees. Most notably he is a past president of The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and The Computer Society of India. In addition, he is a fellow of The Institute of Engineers and is the recipient of the Presidential Award conferred by The Wisitex Foundation.
Mr. Sonawala holds a Masters degree in Engineering from University of Washington, Seattle. |
