Harvey A. Becker, CPC, is well known in the staffing industry. Over the past thirty years, he has built one of the largest and most successful full-service staffing firms in the region. He is recognized as an innovator and trendsetter in the field of contract, temporary and full-time staffing. Before founding Becker Staffing Services in 1975, Harvey served for seven years on active duty in the US Army, achieving the rank of Captain. Before embarking on a career in the staffing industry he worked for eight years as Senior VP of Vantage Development Corporation. Harvey is a Certified Personnel Consultant, a professional designation achieved by only 4% of the staffing industry. He has been married to Joan, his childhood sweetheart, for 44 years. They have five children and four grandchildren. Considered an expert in staffing industry matters, Harvey frequently has been interviewed by the press. He has appeared on television in the Philadelphia area many times and has been a guest on Court TV and Evening Magazine. In addition, Harvey has been qualified as an expert witness and has testified in court cases related to employment issues and the customs and traditions of the staffing industry. Harvey has served as both President and Vice-President of the Pennsylvania Association of Personnel Consultants. He has also been active in The Mid-Atlantic Association of Personnel Consultants and the Central and Eastern Pennsylvania Association of Temporary Services. He has held offices, chaired committees, and conducted workshops and training sessions for these organizations. Harvey has lectured at Philadelphia University, Drexel University, and the Charles Morris Price School of Advertising. He has volunteered his time and expertise to advise students and civic groups about employment opportunities. Both Harvey and his wife, Joan, serve on the Board of The Golden Slipper Club, a Philadelphia-based charity that owns and operates a nursing home, a senior citizens' day care center and a camp for deserving children. Harvey was recognized in August 2000 with the organization's prestigious Horatio Alger Award. Additionally, Harvey and Joan devote time to the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation and the Philadelphia Stroke Council.
