Mr. Tookes, 57, retired from Raytheon Company in December 2002. He joined Raytheon in 1999 as president and chief operating officer of Raytheon Aircraft Company, was appointed chairman and chief executive officer of Raytheon Aircraft Company in 2000, and became president of Raytheon International in 2001. From 1980 until joining Raytheon, Mr. Tookes held a variety of leadership positions with United Technologies Corporation, including serving as president of its subsidiary, Pratt & Whitney’s Large Military Engines Group. He is a director of Corning Incorporated and Ryder System, Inc. and a member of the National Academies Aeronautics and Space Engineering Board. Mr. Tookes has been a director of FPL Group since March 2005. |
