Guy C. Hachey, 51, is a vice president of Delphi Corporation and president of Delphi Powertrain Systems. He also is responsible for regional coordination in Europe in addition to his divisional responsibilities. He is also a member of the Delphi Strategy Board, the company’s top policy-making group, and the executive champion for the operations task team. He also serves as the executive champion for the Peugeot Societe par Actions (PSA), DaimlerChrysler Car & Truck and Volvo Trucks/Renault Vehicules Industriels (RVI) customer accounts.
Hachey joined General Motors (GM) in 1978 as a college-graduate-in-training at GM of Canada’s Ste. Therese, Quebec, assembly facility. During his career at Ste. Therese, he was supervisor and general supervisor of production, area manager of trim assembly, director of manufacturing engineering and general superintendent of manufacturing. In July 1989, Hachey was named plant manager of the Oshawa fabrication plant.
Hachey was later named production manager of Oshawa’s car assembly plants. In April 1992, he was named director of manufacturing operations for the Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning/Heat Exchangers business unit of the now Delphi Thermal Systems in Lockport, N.Y. In September 1994, Hachey became director of manufacturing operations at Delphi in Pontiac, Mich. In October 1995, he was named manufacturing manager of worldwide operations for Delphi Interior Systems (formerly Delphi Interior & Lighting Systems).
Hachey was appointed to general manager for Delphi Chassis in August 1998. He was named vice president, Delphi Corporation, and president, Delphi Chassis Systems in November 1998. In January 2000, Hachey was named President, Delphi Energy & Chassis, with the responsibility of consolidating the former Delphi Chassis and Delphi Energy and Engine Management divisions while integrating the newly acquired Lucas Diesel Systems Company. He retained these responsibilities until April 2006 at which time he was appointed to his current responsibilities.
A native of Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada, Hachey attended St. Jean Military College from 1973 to 1976 receiving several academic, athletic and leadership awards. He earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from McGill University, Montreal, in 1978 and a master’s degree in business administration from Concordia University, Montreal, in 1984. He completed the Tuck Executive Development Program at Dartmouth in 1994.
