Gunars E. Valkirs, Ph.D. is Senior Vice President, Biosite Discovery and co-founder of Biosite Incorporated. Dr. Valkirs is responsible for the development of the Company’s antibody technology and heads Biosite Discovery, a collaborative research and development program.
Prior to forming Biosite, Dr. Valkirs was a scientific investigator with the Diagnostics Research and Development Group at Hybritech Incorporated. During his tenure at Hybritech, he invented and developed the first rapid, visual pregnancy test, the ICON® hCG test
Valkirs received both his doctorate and bachelor’s degrees in physics from the University of California at San Diego. Dr. Valkirs is a Director of Nautilus Biotech. |
