Gregory A. Krauss is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Washington, D.C. office. A member of the Trial Department, Greg's practice focuses on complex litigation. He has litigated cases involving environmental insurance coverage, contracts, toxic torts, intellectual property and pharmaceutical regulatory issues.
Greg has litigated dozens of insurance coverage cases arising from losses involving PCB contamination, asbestos, industrial pollution, and failed plastic plumbing and fittings. He has also defended scores of toxic tort cases alleging injury from a wide array of substances including asbestos, silica sand, volatile organic compounds, mold as well as poor indoor air quality. More recently, his practice has concentrated on patent litigation, including infringement, invalidity and inequitable conduct issues.
Trial Experience: Greg has trial experience in various state, federal and administrative courts:
In 2006, Greg was co-counsel in a four week patent jury trial in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey representing Matsushita Industrial Electrical, Ltd.
In 2004, Greg was co-counsel in a three month patent jury trial in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee representing Medtronic Sofamor Danek.
In 2003, Greg was trial counsel for Bayer Corporation in In the Matter of: Enrofloxacin for Poultry: Withdrawal of Approval of New Animal Drug Application NADA 140-828, the first animal drug withdrawal case to be tried since 1985.
In 1993, Greg was defense trial counsel in a two month, multi-plaintiff, "sick building syndrome" jury trial in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia, a case arising from the EPA Headquarters building in Washington, D.C.

Rutland Fire Clay Company (asbestos personal injury, Circuit Court for Baltimore County, MD 1989).
While attending law school, Greg was a chemical engineer for a multinational chemical company, providing technical support to a chlorofluorocarbon manufacturing plant and conducting laboratory research in composite material development.
Greg is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania as well as in the United States District Courts for the District of Columbia, District of Maryland, District of New Jersey and Western District of Michigan and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He is a member of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
