Gregory A. Beard is a Managing Director of Riverstone. He is based in New York.
Prior to joining Riverstone, Mr. Beard was an Associate with Asen and Company, a privately held investment firm that invests in public and private companies in various stages of development across a broad range of industries. Mr. Beard’s responsibilities at Asen included all aspects of investing, from prospecting and evaluating investment opportunities to serving on portfolio companies’ Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Asen, Mr. Beard was an Associate with DC Investment Partners, a Nashville, Tennessee-based investment firm. While at DC Investment Partners, Mr. Beard managed the merger arbitrage portion of the investment portfolio and evaluated potential venture capital investments. Mr. Beard began his career as a Financial Analyst at Goldman Sachs, where he played an active role in the firm’s energy-sector principal investment activities, including evaluating investment opportunities, structuring investments, working closely with company management teams to optimize financial performance and exiting investments via public offerings and sales to industry participants. Mr. Beard also advised on corporate finance transactions including M&A transactions, and equity and debt financings.
Mr. Beard serves on the Board of Directors of CDM Resource Management, International Logging, Legend Natural Gas II & III, Phoenix Exploration Co. and Targe Energy. He received his B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana. |
