Dr. Zank is responsible for providing the vision for science and technology at Dow Corning and actively leading the company to realize that vision.
In his previous position as Director of New Ventures Research & Development, Dr. Zank developed the R&D organizational strategy for New Ventures, including an internal new business and technology incubator for Dow Corning. He continues to direct the evolving portfolio of activities for New Ventures, which delivers significant new revenue every year.
With over 20 years of industrial experience and a strong track record of scientific excellence, Dr. Zank is recognized as a thought leader in the scientific community and a pioneer in technological development. He holds thirty patents for such innovations as advanced monolithic and composite ceramics, rechargeable batteries and high temperature thermosetting plastics.
He is a member of the American Chemical Society, American Academy for the Advancement of Science and reviewer of the National Science Foundation (NSF), as well as a corporate representative for Dow Corning at the Industrial Research Institute. He is also a frequent invitee at National Research Council and NSF workshops along with government lab and academic institutions oversight committees.
Dr. Zank completed the Kellogg School of Management Executive Development Program at Northwestern University. He earned a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana, and a B.A. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin at Superior. |
