Corporate Law

Greg J. Mermis is a Shareholder in the Kansas City, Missouri office of Polsinelli Shughart PC and is licensed in and represents clients in both Kansas and Missouri.

Mr. Mermis has extensive experience and skill in representing large as well as small businesses in a wide variety of transactions, including corporate acquisitions, sales, financing and private equity investments, as well as investor and shareholder agreements, employment agreements, non-competition and confidentiality agreements and vendor and customer contracts. Mr. Mermis also organizes and advises limited liability companies undertaking business ventures and investments, including preparation of member operating agreements designed to meet the unique needs of each venture or investment.

Mr. Mermis also has extensive experience in software licensing, for both software licensors and licensees, as well as related areas such as agreements for support and maintenance, managed services and hosted services.

Mr. Mermis' real estate clients include developers requiring expertise in real estate acquisitions and sales, financing and restrictive covenants and property owners associations. He also assists his clients with lease transactions, property management agreements, tenant improvement agreements, build-to-suit leases, subleases, and landlord/tenant disputes.

Mr. Mermis graduated with a B.S. from Kansas State University in 1981. Before attending the University of Kansas School of Law and receiving a J.D. in 1988, he practiced accounting with a national accounting firm and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the States of Kansas and Missouri.
