Greg B. Cioffi is a partner in Seward & Kissel’s Corporate Finance group. Mr. Cioffi has practiced at the firm since 1986, and has been a partner since 1996.
Mr. Cioffi has significant experience with a broad range of structured finance transactions. Mr. Cioffi’s primary focus is in the area of asset-backed securitization and distressed debt. He has been actively involved in the development of a wide range of innovative transactions, including the securitization of mutual fund distribution fees, motion picture and television broadcast rights and the establishment of structured investment vehicles, mortgage warehouse facilities and derivatives finance facilities for major investment banks and other large financial institutions. Mr. Cioffi also has significant experience representing dealers, placement agents, issuers and credit support and liquidity providers in various commercial paper transactions. Mr. Cioffi is also one of the leading practitioners in the distressed debt area and has assisted numerous clients in establishing and implementing policies and procedures for the purchase and sale of various types of bank debt, and assisting such clients in understanding the documentation utilized in the secondary market trading of distressed debt.
Mr. Cioffi received a B.A. (with a major in economics) from the State University of New York (class valedictorian, 1983, Royal Netzer Scholarship Award) and a J.D. from Cornell University. He is a member of the American Bar Association.
