Grant Sims is the Economic Development Manager at Sierra Pacific Power Company for northern Nevada. In this role, he collaborates with the Strategic Tactical Planning and Business Development groups to design and implement regional development plans. Grant has had extensive experience in community development, serving as a Reno City Councilman and Washoe County Commissioner. He has also served on numerous boards, including the Regional Planning Governing Board, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada Board of Trustees, the Builders Association of Northern Nevada Board of Directors, Truckee Meadows Community College Foundation Board, Sparks Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, US Bank Community Board of Directors, and the UNR College of Business Advisory Board. He is a member of the Regional Transportation Commission Hall of Fame. Grant was born and raised in Reno and graduated from California State University, Sacramento, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.
