In 1926, three M.I.T. engineering graduates, W. Grant Peirce Jr., J. Trevor Peirce and Charles M. Phelps, decided to start a company based on the hottest new technology product of the time, radios. The three founders started a distribution company to bring this technology to the market and quickly trained and built an extensive dealer base throughout the Mid-Atlantic market. From the first moment of the company’s birth until today, Peirce-Phelps has been dedicated to bringing the highest quality products, produced by the industry’s leading manufacturers, to the customers in our market. Peirce-Phelps has successfully developed markets for thousands of products over its long history by focusing its efforts on finding, training, and developing integrated services that help our dealers succeed. Now in its third generation of leadership, Peirce-Phelps continues to be a family-owned corporation committed to the success of the business customers it serves. Peirce-Phelps has developed unique solutions to meet the needs of a variety of markets including consumer electronics, home appliances, heating, ventilating and air conditioning products, computers, and solid surface counter top products. In the 1980’s Peirce-Phelps was in the Vanguard of the video telecommunications field, designing, selling and installing many of the first commercial video teleconferencing systems used in the United States. Since the 1990’s the company has focused its efforts, on the heating, ventilating and air conditioning business and has grown to one of the 50 largest HVAC distributors in the country. Peirce-Phelps continues to gain product lines, open HVAC Sales Centers at strategic locations throughout the region and aggressively expand its residential and commercial customer base. The company remains true to the values of our founders and has formed business relationships with our customers that span decades and generations. Peirce-Phelps has remained successful by being flexible and responsive to the ever changing needs of the market, through deep knowledge of our industries, and by listening to our customers.
