Gordon Campbell, Executive Director of Techfarm Ventures, founded and operated a number of Silicon Valley technology companies. He established Techfarm, Inc. and Techfarm Ventures as models for partnering startups that create cutting edge technologies with seasoned managerial and financial experience. During his 30-year career, Mr. Campbell has held positions in engineering, sales, marketing and management at Honeywell, Intersil and Motorola. He developed, implemented and managed Intel's marketing efforts prior to founding and incubating the startup of many notable companies including: SEEQ Technology; CHIPS and Technologies, Inc.; and 3Dfx Interactive. Mr. Campbell has been recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year by Inc. Magazine and is an acknowledged high technology pioneer. Most notably, he has pioneered many technological innovations, including the world's first Ethernet chips and electronically erasable microcomputers, the first PC on a chip, the first IBM-compatible graphics controller for personal computers, and the chipset upon which personal computers are based. Additionally, Mr. Campbell is known as the father of the fabless semiconductor industry, a model that represents 10% of the semiconductor industry, is currently used by thousands of companies and is worth $15 billion in revenue per year. Mr. Campbell currently serves as chairman of the board for several portfolio companies, including Rapport, NuCORE and Quantum3D. He is on the board of directors for Palm, Inc. and Bell Microproducts, Inc. |
