S. Gordon Walsh is the Chief Financial
Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance
at L-3 Communications Integrated Systems
(L-3 IS). Appointed to his new position in
May 2004, he is responsible for complete
financial operations of the L-3 IS Group,
consisting of more than 10 business entities
located throughout the United States. He
brings strong financial leadership and broad
company experience essential to continuing
company growth.
Mr. Walsh joined L-3 Communications in
1998. Prior to joining the Integrated Systems
Group within L-3 Communications, Walsh
was the Group CFO for the Sensors and
Simulation Group reporting to Jim Dunn.
Prior to advancing to the Group CFO
position, Walsh served in a dual role of Vice
President of Finance and Division Chief
Financial Officer at L-3 Link Simulation and
Training in Arlington, Texas. During this 4-
year period, he was responsible for managing
the financial operations of the newly formed
Sensors and Simulation Group. As Division
Chief Financial Officer, he simultaneously
managed Link's financial operations, with a
focus on growth through the development and
delivery of military training systems and
services.
Upon joining L-3 Communications in 1998,
Walsh served as a Corporate Director of
Special Projects. His first assignment was
acting Division Controller at L-3 Ocean
Systems division, a newly acquired business
by L-3 Communications.
Prior to joining L-3 Communications, Walsh
held key financial positions at major
aerospace and accounting firms. At
Lockheed Martin, he was Controller of the
Eagan, MN, Operations. Before this, he
worked at Loral as the Internal Audit
Manager of Loral's West Coast Internal
Audit Group, which he established after Loral
acquired the Ford Aerospace Operations.
Before joining Loral, Walsh spent 10 years in
public accounting at KPMG Peat Marwick.
Walsh was born in Detroit, Michigan. He
earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from
the University of Texas at Austin. He
received his CPA in the state of Texas, while
employed with KPMG Peat Marwick,
He and his wife, Sandy, have two children
and reside in Heath, Texas.
