Glen Van Kerkvoort has worked extensively in South America for over 10 years focussing on exploration and discovery of Epithermal Gold deposits. He recieved 1st class honours at the Center for Ore Deposit Research at the University of Tasmania and was awarded the Geological Society of Australia Gold Medal in 1993. He discovered the La Cabeza deposit in 1996 during a Landsat colour anomaly reconnaissance programme. During the late 90s he worked with Barrick as Senior Geologist charged with mapping and geological modelling of the >30 million ounce Au Pascua-Lama-Veledero high sulphidation deposit which straddles the Argentine-Chilean border. In 2002 he joined the Brancote team at their >3 million ounce Esquel deposit to head up regional exploration. Following the purchase of the Esquel deposit by Meridian Gold he was appointed Exploration Manager for Patagonia Gold PLC, a Junior explorer undertaking grass roots exploration in the Argentine and Chilean Patagonia regions. |
