Born in Milan in 1948, he is married with two children.
On 15 February 2005 he was appointed Managing Director of Olivetti, of which he became President in December 2004.
He started his career in 1973 with Gruppo Pirelli, occupying increasingly important positions; since 1992 he undertook international assignments both in Europe and in the United States.
From 1998 to 2001 he was General Manager of Pirelli Pneumatici, managing all domestic and international activities in the tyre sector and leading Pirelli to become one of the first five top world manufacturers.
In 2001 he became Managing Director and General Manager of Pirelli & C. S.p.A., the company that owns and manages all Gruppo Pirelli's global operations. |
