Geralyn (Geri) is presently employed as general counsel senior vice president and assistant secretary at Forest City Enterprises Inc. one of the nation's largest publicly traded real estate companies. Her areas of law practice include real estate development and finance corporate and securities law. Presti is a frequent speaker on topics related to real estate development and financing securities laws in-house corporate law practice and community involvement.
Presti received her BM from Ohio University where she majored in Music Therapy. For the next five years she worked as a registered music therapist at The Cleveland Music School Settlement. She left this position to return to graduate school at Case Western Reserve University where she received the joint MSSA and JD (Law Review Magna Cum Laude and Order of the Coif) program degrees from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences (MSASS) and the School of Law. While at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences her graduate studies focused on community organization and planning. She is A-V rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Present professional affiliations include the Board of Trustees of the L.L.M. Program for U.S. Legal Studies and the School of Law Dean’s Advisory Counsel at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law; the Board of Directors for the Cleveland Music Settlement (1999-2005 vice president treasurer chairman of Finance Governance and Executive Committees); trustee of The Greater Cleveland General Counsel Association and the Planning Committee (2003 and 2004); (panel member-2003 for the regional ICSC law conference and 2004 2005 for the national ICSC law conference).
Presti is a trustee serving as a vice chairman for Business Volunteers Unlimited. She is also a participant on the Advisory Board of Chicago Title Insurance Company and a member of the Professional Sector Cabinet of the United Way 2005 and 2006 campaigns.
Presti was invited to join In Counsel With Women and she was elected to the Society of Benchers by the Board of Governance of the CWRU Law School. She has been ranked an "Ohio Super Lawyer" for the last three years. |
