Mr. Romanski has specialized in the production of software development environments for the past 33 years. His work has focused on compilers, cross compilers, run-time systems, and tools for embedded real-time applications. Prior to founding Verocel with James Chelini in 1999, Mr. Romanski was Vice President of Technology at EDS/Scicon, Vice President of Engineering at Alsys, and Director of Safety Critical Software at Aonix. Since 1992, he has concentrated on software for safety critical applications. The results of his work have been used in avionics, nuclear, and railway applications at the highest level of criticality such as the Boeing 777, the nuclear reactor safety shutdown system for the Temelin Reactor, and the railway signaling and braking system for the Jubilee Line Extension of the London Underground. Mr. Romanski has developed software tools and techniques used to certify numerous avionics and aerospace programs. He is the author of the Aonix Safety-Critical Handbook. Mr. Romanski also serves the safety critical industry as a member of the HRG (Annex H Rapporteur Group) for the Ada 95 ISO standard, addressing safety and security issues; the Requirements and Technical Concepts for Aviation (RTCA) Special Committee SC-190 (work completed, documents published) providing clarification of DO-178B for avionics and ground-based systems; and the ARINC-653 Working Group developing a revision to the ARINC-653 Avionics Application Software Standard Interface. |
