George Smith serves Smith, Turner and Reeves as its Senior Audit and Accounting Partner. George enjoys helping his clients to become more profitable by assisting them with strategic business planning, tax planning and business valuation services. His client base includes a wide variety of commercial, not for profit and governmental entities. George has extensive experience in the telecommunications, utilities and manufacturing areas and provides workout services to lenders. He also directs the Firm's assurance services division.He has served as an instructor for various accounting and audit courses for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Mississippi Society of CPA's. George has also served as a member of the Technical Issues Committee of the Private Companies Practice Section of the AICPA and the Peer Review Board of the AICPA. George, as the Firm's Quality reviewer, is involved in final oversight of every firm audit engagement. George is a 1971 Mississippi State University graduate and Lexington, Mississippi native. His wife, Emily, and children Stephen, Jennifer and Sarah join him as active members of Northminster Baptist Church, where George serves as treasurer.
