George Whitley is chairman of LeClairRyan's Corporate Practice Group. His practice focuses on the representation of domestic and international financial institutions, including banking and thrift institutions and their holding companies, securities brokerage firms, money management and advisory firms, and other financial intermediaries. He also counsels a wide variety of non-financial service businesses with their growth, financing and other strategic business issues. He regularly represents financial service and other established and emerging growth companies in connection with capital markets transactions, corporate governance issues, merger and acquisition transactions, securities and regulatory compliance, and joint venture and other partnering strategies. With his extensive securities law experience, he also assists clients with their initial public offerings and their emergence as a public company in dealing with their new corporate, reporting and related responsibilities.
