Dr. Hartzler gained international prominence as a cardiologist during 23 years of practice in interventional cardiology. He served most recently (from 1980 to 1995) as a Consulting Cardiologist with the Mid America Heart Institute of St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Hartzler was the co-founder and director of four medical device companies, including Ventritex Inc. and IntraLuminal Therapeutics, Inc., and served as a consultant and/or director to seven additional companies, some of which were medical device companies. Dr. Hartzler has published numerous articles in medical and scientific journals on various aspects of cardiology, and has been a frequent lecturer on these topics. Dr. Hartzler is regarded as one of the pioneers of interventional cardiology. |
