Gavin Harvey is President of Stamford, CT-based VERSUS®. In this capacity, he oversees the network’s day-to-day programming, production, marketing, finance and sales operations, while directing the overall strategic vision.
Harvey joined VERSUS from E! Networks, where he served as the Executive Vice President of Marketing & Brand Director, overseeing brand strategies worldwide. In addition to brand development and positioning, Harvey directed the advertising, creative services, on-air promotions and design, public relations, online marketing, and promotions for E! Networks, including E! Entertainment Television, The Style Network, E! International and E! Online. During his tenure, he spearheaded elaborate re-branding initiatives for both E! Entertainment Television and The Style Network.
Prior to E! Harvey served as Senior Vice President & Brand Director at iN Demand from 1999 to 2001. While there, he spearheaded an industry-wide initiative to unify cable’s pay-per-view (PPV) brands and position PPV for a digital future as video-on-demand. In addition, he expanded their sports offerings, introducing the first out-of-market sports subscription packages with properties from the NBA, NHL, MLB and professional tennis.
Previously, Harvey held a number of executive level positions at FX Networks, culminating with the position of Senior Vice President, Marketing and Promotion. During his tenure at FX, he was responsible for on-air promotion and network marketing for FX and fXM:Movies from Fox, brand strategy and execution, as well expanding the networks sports program to include Major League Baseball, college football and NFL Europe (formerly World League Football). Prior to FX, Harvey held a number of marketing positions at E!, Disney Channel and Accor Asia Pacific.
Harvey holds an MBA from the UCLA Graduate School of Management, and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the Promax Board of Directors and was named a PROMAX Brand Builder in 2004. A lifelong outdoor sports enthusiast, Harvey is an avid cyclist and scuba diver. He also enjoys skiing, adventure travel and motorcycling. Harvey and his wife Jonnie have two children.
