Gary L. Powers has joined Palomar Pomerado Health's (PPH's) Board of Directors as a way of expressing his gratitude to the institution for playing such an important part in San Diego's inland north county community. As the President/CEO of the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Powers has worked closely with many PPH leaders and staff members, and has admired their dedication to the health care organization and the vast number of people whom it serves
"I am proud to have a role in the future of Palomar Pomerado Health," says Mr. Powers. "I have seen the commitment the health care facilities and their staffs have to our residents, and it's extremely satisfying. I hope to help guide and lead PPH so that it is stronger and even better able to meet the health needs of north county San Diegans in the future."
In his role as President/CEO of the Chamber, Mr. Powers has helped that entity grow to serve 1,100 members who represent 135,000 employees in 13 suburban communities. He has more than forty years in resource and organization development in the non-profit and profit sectors in San Diego County and in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He has vast experience as an executive, a business owner, a consultant, and a volunteer.
Mr. Powers was instrumental in the consolidation of the Rancho Bernardo Chamber of Commerce with the I-15 Diamond Gateway Chamber of Commerce, and he was a strong supporter of PPH's plans to purchase a site at the Escondido Research & Technology Centre for the location of the planned "Hospital of the Future."
"I'm passionate about PPH's importance to this community, and I'm determined to help all plans for future expansion become a reality. It's an exciting and absolutely necessary effort which will help individuals and businesses alike."
Mr and Mrs. Powers have four grown daughters and seven grandchildren. When time allows, they enjoy traveling in their motor home throughout the Unites States. |
