Gary L. Medd is Vice President, Internal Audit, a position he has held since May 2005. In his position, Medd directs the worldwide internal audit function for Deere & Company.
Medd began his career with Deere & Company in 1966 as an intern in the company's summer training program. In 1968 he joined the internal audit staff. Medd has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility including Manager, Financial Planning, General Company Controller, and Manager, Treasury. He also served as Controller of Accounting Services for the Worldwide Commercial & Consumer Equipment Division. Medd was named Director, Financial Shared Services in 2000. He was named Director, Internal Audit in 2001.
Medd, a native of Moline, Illinois, received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Drake University in 1968. He received his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management in 1993. He is a member of the Audit Director Roundtable of the Corporate Executive Board.
