Galen Ho is Senior Vice President for Performance Excellence, responsible for program management; engineering and technology; strategic planning; mergers and acquisitions; internal audit; information technology; and mission success for the company’s U.S.-based operating groups. The groups collectively employ some 45,000 employees in the U.S., U.K., Sweden and South Africa and generate annual sales in excess of $10 billion.
Previously, Ho was president of BAE Systems’ Information & Electronic Systems Integration Sector. Prior to that, he served as President of the former Lockheed Martin Aerospace Electronics Systems (AES) business segment.
With more than 30 years of defense and aerospace experience, Ho has served in a variety of other leadership positions. From 1997 to 1999, he was Chief Executive Officer of Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems, United Kingdom, and President of Lockheed Martin Aerospace Systems Integration Corporation (ASIC), in addition to serving as President, Electronics Systems U.K. for Lockheed Martin Federal Systems, Owego, N.Y.
Lockheed Martin Corporation purchased Loral Corporation in 1996. While at Loral, Ho was Chief Executive Officer of its European subsidiary, Loral Europe Limited. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President of Loral Federal Systems and President of Loral ASIC beginning in 1994.
Ho first joined IBM as an avionics systems engineer in 1972 and subsequently held various management positions. In 1981, he was named Assistant to the IBM Federal Systems President, responsible for technical and administrative management within the President’s office. He was later promoted to Program Director, Processor Systems Programs in 1984; Assistant General Manager, Systems Programs in 1986; and Assistant General Manager, Programs in 1988. In 1991 he became IBM Federal Systems Vice President and General Manager, as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of ASIC. He was named as Vice President and General Manager for the Merlin Program in 1993 while continuing his ASIC leadership.
Ho received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Oregon State University and did graduate study work at Ohio State University. While serving as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, he was awarded the Vietnam Combat Service and the Air Force Meritorious Service Medals. |
