Mr. Vromen is President of Omega Investments BV, a venture capital company in The Netherlands. Prior to this position, he was Executive Vice President of Mercurius Beleggingsmaatschappij B.V. ( Mercurius ) where he managed the company s venture capital holdings of approximately $1 billion. Prior to Mercurius, Mr. Vromen was Managing Partner of Bridgepoint Capital in Düsseldorf, responsible for Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Benelux, focusing on the mid-cap market. Total fund assets were approximately € 2.5 billion. Mr. Vromen was also managing director of APM International (ABN-AMRO Bank subsidiary), which became Alpinvest VC Fund (now NIB Capital), the largest venture capital fund worldwide. Mr. Vromen was appointed Industrial Commissioner of The Netherlands to the U.S.A. (diplomatic service) responsible for opening offices in Houston and San Francisco and for acquisition and equity financing of Dutch subsidiaries of U.S. companies. Mr. Vromen began his career as an attorney, working in both The Netherlands and New York and responsible for tax and corporate advice to foreign investors and multinationals. Mr. Vromen has a Masters Degree in Law from the University of Nijmegen, and participated in post-graduate programs at Tilburg University (International Tax Law) and at Stanford University, CA. Mr. Vromen holds several board positions in a number of international venture capital funds in the U.S., France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and The Netherlands, as well as several individual companies. |
