Fred Weiss, executive vice president, field operations, is responsible for the Advancement Solutions line of business serving the institutional advancement community. Mr. Weiss's primary responsibility is to grow Advancement Solutions by providing an expanding client base with the solutions they need to support and advance their missions, aligning our diverse portfolio with their organizational priorities.Mr. Weiss has over 16 years of experience leading sales and marketing organizations. His most recent position with SunGard Higher Education was senior vice president, Advancement Solutions. In this role he led the sales and marketing, strategic product management, and professional services organizations. He also guided product-related customer volunteer committees, served as the Industry Advisory Council liaison for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Board of Trustees, and cultivated strong relationships with our customers through his strategic vision and direction. Before being appointed as senior vice president, Mr. Weiss was vice president of sales and marketing, directing all sales and marketing efforts for Advancement Solutions while aligning the business within an overall product strategy. He also gained valuable international sales experience at SunGard Higher Education as director of sales, responsible for accounts not only in North America, but also Europe and Australia. Prior to his return to SunGard Higher Education, Mr. Weiss served as vice president of sales for Harmony Information Systems, a leading health and human services ERP company. Mr. Weiss earned a bachelor of arts degree in English literature from Boston University, where he graduated cum laude, and also completed some graduate work in business administration and literature. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife. |
