Fred Tomczyk became Vice Chair, Corporate Operations in June of 2002, after serving in a number of executive capacities in Canada Trust and then TD Canada Trust. His previous positions included Executive Vice President, Core and Small Business Banking, Executive Vice President, Core Banking & Wealth Management, and most recently, Executive Vice President, Retail Distribution, where he led the branch networks of The Toronto-Dominion Bank and Canada Trust through the merger to become TD Canada Trust.
Prior to joining Canada Trust, Fred was President and Chief Executive Officer of London Life. He left following the sale of the Company to Great West Lifeco in 1998 and subsequently joined Canada Trust.
Fred graduated from Cornell University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science, Applied Economics & Business Management. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1982.
He is a member of Cornell University's Undergraduate Business Program Advisory Council, a member of the Board of Directors of Robarts Research Institute, Meloche Monnex Inc. and Symcor Inc., and is the Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Bankers Association.
Fred and his wife Vicki live in Toronto. They have three children. |
