Fred joined Optibrand as CEO in 2007. Prior to Fred's selection as CEO, he had been involved with Optibrand for several years as a member of the company's Advisory Board. He brings a wealth of business experience to Optibrand, having served in various executive positions, most recently at Calgon Corporation. Fred's experience covers a wide range of business functions including sales, marketing, research and development, mergers and acquisitions, strategic development and financial management. He was formerly President and CEO of Calgon, a global specialty chemical company. Before being appointed Calgon's CEO, he held to positions of VP Marketing and Sales and VO R&D. Prior to his twenty years experience with Calgon, he spent ten years in progressively responsible positions in the chemical industry.
Dr. Kerst holds a Ph.D. degree in chemistry from Harvard University and B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry from Colorado State University. He has served on the CSU Alumni Board, the CSU Research Foundation Board, and the Board of Governors of the CSU System. He also serves on the boards of several start up companies. |
