In 2004, he became Dean of the Robert J. Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy of New School University and chief administrator of the graduate division. From 2001-2002, he was Senior Advisor to Mario Cuomo during his campaign for Governor of New York and has been a speaker on National Public Radio. From May 1998 to January 2001, Mr. Hochberg served as Deputy then Acting Administrator of the Small Business Administration, an agency elevated to Cabinet rank by President Clinton. Additionally, Mr. Hochberg served on President Clinton?s Management Council. From 1994 to 1998, he was founder and President of Heyday Company, a private investment company managing real estate, stock market investment and venture capital projects. From 1975 to 1993, Mr. Hochberg served as president and chief operating officer of the Lillian Vernon Corporation, a publicly traded direct marketing corporation. Mr. Hochberg has served on numerous business and civic boards including the Democratic National Committee, the Young Presidents' Organization, and as co-chair of the Human Rights Campaign. Mr. Hochberg is currently a trustee of New School University, The Citizens Budget Commission, FINCA, Lillian Vernon International House at New York University and the Wolfsonian Museum in Miami Beach, Florida.
