Frank Hundley Biography :

The Directors are sad to announce the death of Frank Hundley. Frank died peacefully on May 18, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, father-in-law and grandfather who lived his faith and will be dearly missed. A man of integrity and honor, he was a true and loyal friend and we will always remember his genuine concern for his fellow man. He was born on October 21, 1932 in Covington, Virginia and graduated from Covington High School in 1950. He received a bachelor’s degree from Washington & Lee University in 1954. Thereafter, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. In 1955, he married Margot Mayes Hundley and they enjoyed 50 happy years together. He and Margot were truly the loves of each other’s lives. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he attended graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin where he earned an MBA in 1958. He and Margot moved to Dallas where they raised a family and he enjoyed a successful business career. He began as an investment banker with Dominick & Dominick. In 1973, he joined Southland Financial Corporation, serving as a director and Chief Financial Officer and President of its subsidiary, Las Colinas Corporation. In 1990, he became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Addison National Bank. In 2003 he became one of the founding directors of T Bank. He was a devoted and long-time member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, freely giving of his time and talent. At HPPC, he taught Sunday School, served on numerous committees and held the offices of deacon, elder and trustee. He greatly enjoyed the fellowship in the Thursday morning men’s bible study group in which he participated for many years. He is survived by his loving wife, Margot, his two sons and their wives and five grandsons. Frank was active in various civic and social groups and was a member of the Club of Dallas, the Dallas Country Club, Turtle Creek Breakfast Club and served on the Board of the Washington Street Mission for many years. He was happiest when spending time with his family and friends at the family’s house at Lake Texoma. We loved his easy laughter and sense of humor. He was our good friend and he will surely be missed.
