Mr. Pokorny is a director in the Midwest Region of CBIZ Valuation Group. He is responsible for valuation studies including purchase price allocation, analysis of intangible assets and appraisal of capital stock and other financial interests and instruments. Mr. Pokorny is the leader of the firm's Consumer Products Industry Team. He has extensive experience in the food processing and distribution, household/body care products and apparel industries. He also has experience in the printing and publishing and television and radio broadcasting industries, industrial and consumer services and a wide variety of retail and manufacturing industries. On numerous engagements he has had the responsibility for the management of projects for Fortune 500 clients with particularly complex valuation, tax and SEC accounting issues, including several assignments valuing equities and assets in excess of $5 billion. He has had project management responsibility to meet client needs in the areas of intangible asset analysis and equity valuations for a variety of accounting and tax planning purposes. Mr. Pokorny has developed a variety of proprietary software applications used in the valuation of intangible assets in various industries and has actively led efforts in the design, development and application of appraisal quality control standards and procedures. He has also been a speaker at business seminars regarding appraisal topics and issues of current interest. Prior to joining CBIZ Valuation Group, Mr. Pokorny was employed as a vice president of a national appraisal firm and as a manager in the appraisal and valuation services group of a major accounting firm. His duties included management of large multidiscipline appraisal projects with significant SEC accounting and tax consequences. Mr. Pokorny graduated with a bachelor of science degree (high honors) in commerce, with a concentration in finance, from De Paul University and with a master of business administration, finance from De Paul University, where he also functioned as a graduate assistant.
