Evelyn Quigley has been a senior executive since 1997. She joined MeritCare in 1968 as a Registered Nurse. Quigley is responsible for mission and community benefit and provides system-wide leadership and coordination for community benefit initiatives including Guest Services, Social Services, Spiritual Services, Volunteer Services, Community Connection Partnerships and the Community Relations Program. Quigley coordinates and facilitates affiliations with academic institutions, faith communities and social service agencies.
Quigley received a diploma in nursing from Sisters of St. Joseph School of Nursing, Grand Forks, N.D. and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Minnesota State University, Moorhead. She received her master's of nursing degree and a minor in business administration from the University of Washington, Seattle and has held numerous leadership positions such as director of neuro-psych-rehab nursing, director of critical care nursing, vice president of nursing and senior executive chief nursing officer. She carries the designation as chief nursing officer emeritus of MeritCare Health System.
Quigley serves as chief clinical safety officer in partnership with Bruce Pitts, M.D., and recently published an article on patient safety in the Online Journal of Issues in Nursing. She is chairperson of the North Dakota Organization of Nurse Executives, treasurer of the North Dakota Nurse Leadership Council, a member of the Minnesota Organization of Nurse Leaders, a member of the North Dakota Nurses Association and is the chairperson for its Nursing Research Council. Quigley has been inducted to both Xi Kappa and Eta Upsilon Nursing Honor Societies. Quigley currently advises the Minnesota State University Moorhead Masters Program in Public, Human Services, and Health Administration and is a member of its Foundation Board of Directors. She serves on the advisory boards of the Tri-College University Nursing Consortium and the North Dakota State College of Science.
On a national and regional level, Evelyn participates in VHA and Health Care Advisory activities. She also serves as an appraiser for the American Nurses Association Credentialing Centers' Magnet Recognition Program. |
