Mr. McDonnell brings a wealth of marketing and technology management expertise to CodeRyte from his extensive experience working with software and technology companies over the past 18 years. Before joining CodeRyte, Mr. McDonnell was part of the management team that purchased DataDirect Technologies in a leveraged buy-out transaction in 2001. Mr. McDonnell rebuilt the product management and product marketing functions and helped this software company achieve a 65% increase in EBITDA in two years. DataDirect Technologies was sold to Progress Software in 2003 for $88M, yielding its investors a 4x return on investment. Mr. McDonnell stayed on with Progress Software until 2006, helping them acquire five additional companies including the $68M purchase of NEON Systems. Prior to DataDirect, Mr. McDonnell guided several high-tech companies through corporate strategy and business development challenges in both line management positions and as a principal in a private equity firm. Mr. McDonnell holds a MBA from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with Highest University Honors from Carnegie Mellon University. |
